This course introduces key concepts of estimation and costing in building projects. Over 16 weeks, students learn to write general and detailed specifications, perform rate analysis for major construction items, and compute quantities as per IS 1200. The course also explains different types of contracts, tendering procedures, and bidding systems. By linking technical, financial, and legal aspects, students develop practical skills to prepare estimates and understand tender documents. By the end, they can effectively assist in planning, costing, and managing construction projects.
